Any politician, no matter the party, should be ashamed to do something like this.  It’s an act of deplorable desperation and I hope the voters of Virginia see it as such.  The problem is, however, that many Republicans have tunnel vision when it comes to their candidates.  They’ll vote Republican no matter what, no matter the disgusting or perverse levels their candidate is willing to sink. It’s sad, really.

What the hell is wrong with our military that they would go after a man who gave up parts of his body for a lousy $646?!  How disrespectfull can you be?  Why the fuck would the military charge wounded soldiers for lost equipment in the middle of a war zone?  I mean, my God, have these people never served in a war zone?  Who the hell gives a damn what happened to a Kevlar helmet, some suspenders, and a rucksack?  Rep. Davis is right, this is an embarrassment for our nation.  We send these young men and women to fight in a war, don’t properly support or arm them, and then turn around and garnish their wages when they’ve been injured!  I say it again, "What the fuck!"

Some might retort by saying this means 60% don’t want Tom DeLay to resign.  That may be, but from the little I know of Texas politics (and it’s very little), the district DeLay represents is very conservative.  If 40% say he should go that’s a near coup!  Moreover, 40% is nearly half and that’s just bad no matter how you spin it.

The stupidity of some conservative "family" groups never ceases to amaze me.  Of course, they are correct.  Girls, Inc. does support a woman’s right to choose and they do offer support to girls who are discovering they are homosexual.  However, they also offer many other programs that seek to empower girls and help them to become strong, productive members of society.  My God, we should burn them all the stake for daring to suggest such a thing!  Of course, combating female empowerment is nothing new for conservative groups, especially with the help of conservative women.  It’s as if the idea of a strong, independent woman is somehow anathema to Chrisian values.  There are, in fact, several strong, independent, opinionate women throughout the Bible.

I hope "American Girls" and Girls, Inc. don’t back down from this.  In the end, I think they’ll be the winners.
