No place in U.N. for Iran

Link: Israel: No place in U.N. for Iran

While I certainly agree with the sentiment expressed here, I wonder why Israel would care if Iran is in the UN.  To me, the UN is a useless body these days and Israel certainly has had no use for them (with very good reason), so I wonder why they care.  Unfortunately, this could escalate to a worse situation in the future.  With Iran continuing to develop their nuclear facility, Israel may be forced to take action that could create major problems for the world.

I really think the US lost an opportunity with Iran.  A large chunk of their populace desperately wants democracy, yet we do nothing to help that along.  No one says we have to normalize relations with Iran, there are other ways. However, we’re so caught in our childish name-calling we can’t see that.

Miers Withdrawls

Looks like Bush lost this one.  Here’s a question for Democrats who believe the president caved to the "radical right wing of the Republican Party":  Was Miers really worth this?  She was in no way fit for this job and the President’s nomination of her was a supreme act of cronyism.  Yeah, you may have to fight a radical right-winger now, but that’s your job, isn’t it?

Why?

Is King King really the kind of movie that requires three hours to tell a story?  I know Jackson likes to tell big stories, but where is all the extra going to come from?  I mean, it’s a basic story:  gorilla meets girl, gets dragged to New York and dies.  That takes three hours?

This time she gets one in Belize!  No matter what you may think of Orpah, and she annoys me, the woman knows how to do good.
