Maybe I would make a bad parent, but I don’t necessarily see anything wrong with this.  Yeah, it’s extreme, but is that always a bad thing?  Will this girl really have psychological and emotional damage from this?  If the parents handle it right, I don’t think so.  In the end, the young woman in question may have learned her lesson, and while she may hold a grudge against her parents for doing this to her, I guarantee she won’t forget it.  When she’s older she may even look back on it an laugh.
