I’ll be the first to say the way in which Wal-Mart provides health insurance to its employees is kind of crappy, and I say this from experience since I spent some years as a Wal-Mart employee.  However, Maryland’s tactic of passing a law to force them to pay more health insurance is not the way to go about it.  Granted, I don’t have the answer, but tactics like this usually hurt the employee/consumer more than they help.
