Rudy and Condi Not So Popular

Interesting poll over at PollingReport.com.  Everyone paints Rudy Giuliani as unbeatable due to his "heroic" efforts during the September 11, 2001 attacks, but according to this poll he barely beats Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, and John Edwards.  The only person he stomps is Al Gore who’s time has passed in my opinion.  Condoleeza Rice is even worse.  The only person she’s able to beat is John Kerry, again someone who’s time has passed.  The only real hope Republicans seem to have is John McCain who does well against every candidate in the poll.

And So It Begins

With the appointments of John Roberts and Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court it was only a matter of time before Conservatives started moving to get Roe v. Wade overturned.  The first test may begin in South Dakota where a bill banning all abortions except when the mother’s life is at risk will be voted on this week.  The bill would also make it a felony offense for any doctor who performs an abortion other than in the case of the one exception.  It’s a frightening piece of legislation that could become a model for similar bills all over the country.

I often find myself wondering if the Court would overturn Roe.  Granted, both Alito and Roberts have said they believe Roe is flawed, but does that mean they would completely overturn precedent?  We could be assured that Scalia and Thomas would vote to overturn Roe, but who else?  Personally, I don’t think the wing nuts have a lock on all the "conservative" justices, but I could be wrong.

Huh?

Sometime I find myself wondering just who the hell is in charge of this administration!  Of course, this is all a bunch of bullshit.  Just a way for the president to distance himself from something that is quickly becoming a huge negative for the administration.
