The New George Lazenby

Will Daniel Craig turn out to be the new George Lazenby?  Lazenby has had a long acting career, but he is best known his disastrous turn as James Bond in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.  Craig has been getting a lot of negative press from fans of the series and he may just be regretting the decision.

Galactica Moves to the Fall

In what may be a disastrous decision for Battlestar Galactica, The SciFi Channel will move the season three premiere of their highest rated series to October instead of the usual summer premiere.  Putting the show in October increases the competition for Battlestar Galactica, which may not be the best decision.  SciFi has been advertising a lot of new shows lately, including a proposed series based on Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files about a mystery-solving Wizard in Chicago.  If they only want to air original series on Friday they don’t have much of a choice.

Unexepcted

President Bush has had a relatively easy 6 years thanks in no small part to the Republican-held government and GOP politicians willing to fall into line when the president needed them to.  Apparently, that may be changing.  In what I think is an unexpected move, the House Appropriations Committee voted 62-2 to block DP World from holding leases or contracts on US ports.  Of course, there are still a lot of hurdles for this deal, not the least of which is President’s Bush’s threatened veto.  This will be interesting to watch.
