Is anyone surprised Basic Instinct 2 was a flop?  The first Basic Instinct was hokey, badly written, and horribly acted.  The only reason it was successful was due to the controversy of Sharon Stone showing the world her shaved va-jay-jay.  Hell, Sharon Stone has always sucked as an actress.  The only time in her career where she did a passably good job was in Casino, and even then she benefited from a great film with a great script surrounded by a group of great actors.

Just finished watching the Meet the Press netcast with Senator John McCain and if I came away with one thing it’s this:  McCain is no fucking maverick!  If there is anything that McCain has proven in the last year as he most assuredly gears up for the 2008 election it’s that he is more than willing to sell his soul to the wingnuts in order to win.  This interview only proves that.  I have to hand it to Russert:  he actually asked hard questions and didn’t meekly accept double-speak.  If only he could do that with all his guests I might become a regular viewer again.
