Poter Goss, We Hardly Knew Ye
When George W. Bush leaves office in 2008 he will leave behind a swath of destruction among the various government agencies. Among the worst is the CIA, one of the most important agencies in the post-September 11 world. Porter Goss was heralded as the Second Coming, but in the end turned out to be as bad as most Bush appointees. Instead of a strengthened and prepared agency, Goss is leaving behind a demoralized and emasculated agency that could do little to protect our national security. Perhaps the president should appoint someone who actually has experience — his father, for example.
