You know, I just don’t understand why religious leaders are surprised by the antics of Madonna. She’s been flipping them off for years. Get over it, move on. Be happy that Madonna’s not as popular as she used to be. She’s not the pathetic one, they are. She’s just a glory whore looking for attention. They should know this by now.
Bill O’Reilly is the first to dismiss and demean the political opinions of celebrities, but he is always so obsessed with them. Especially those who dare talk back to Bill "Call Me God" O’Reilly.
Things got a little ugly for our girl, Condi, at the Boston College commencement speech, but like the trooper she is Condi forged her way through. She even gave some sage advice:
Dr. Rice told students of what she believes to be the five
responsibilities of educated people — to find your passion, be
committed to reason, reject false pride, be optimistic and reject
prejudices. She acknowledged the protests and received applause after
urging graduates to consider perspectives different than their own.
"There is nothing wrong with holding an opinion and holding it
passionately," Dr. Rice said. "But at those times you’re absolutely
sure that you are right, go find somebody who disagrees. Don’t allow
yourself the easy course of the constant ‘Amen’ to everything you say."
Too bad her own president, and Dr. Rice herself, don’t put that advice to use in real life. How many "perspectives other than their own" do they listen to. They are among the worst at saying "Amen" to what everyone says around them. What a hypocrite.
So, the small Little Knox College has landed the It Man of speeches these day, Stephen Colbert, for their commencement speech. I’m sure they’ll get flack for it, but considering the college’s history I doubt they give a damn. I would love to be there just to see what he says. Something tells me Colbert won’t as vicious in this speech, but I’m sure it will be fun.
