The actions of the Canadian press were obviously over-the-top, but can you imagine the furor Republicans would erupt into if our press developed even a tenth of their Canadian brothers and sisters’ backbone? There would be instant calls for an amendment to the Constitution either rescinding the freedom of the press or changes to make it more strict.
Who knows if it’s actually true, but it would be nice to know that Alberto Gonzales finally grew a pair of balls where the law and constitution are concerned. I won’t hold my breath for any more crises of conscious.
The whole brouhaha is a bunch of bullshit. Why should members of Congress be given special treatment that everyday citizens don’t get. What’s next: no wiretapping of Congressional phones?
Why exactly does the military need to approve religious symbols that deceased soldiers’ families would like to appear on their loved one’s headstones? Some may be put off by the idea of a Wiccan pentacle, but in a country that professes to guarantee freedom of religion to all of his citizens why would this be a problem? In my opinion, the type of religious symbol shouldn’t even require approval, it should be the choice of the family. Period.
I’m sure a lot of the hesitance about this has to do with lack of information concerning the pentagram symbol itself. Thanks to Hollywood, the pentagram is often associated with Satanism, but it has a very long association with Christianity.
I know it’s not a laughing matter, but it seems damn funny that sexuality activity is so,well, active in The Villages retirement community that STDs are running rampant through the community. I hope when I’m in my 70s or 80s, if I make it that far, I can still get it up. Of course, these fellas are above using those "little blue pills."
