Wow, Republicans just aren’t getting a lot of help from the judiciary this year. Some SOB activist judge actually had the temerity to say members of Congress are not above the law. Why does this man hate American and love terrorists? Why doesn’t he just convert to Islam and join al-Quaeda!
As much as Rudy Giuliani might want to believe his post-September 11 gravitas still exists, it doesn’t. Just because he endorses a candidate doesn’t mean said candidate will walk away with the election. Moreover, is Rick Santorum the candidate you want to get behind? What this shows is that Mr. Gay-loving Pro-Choice Rudy is willing to get in bed with whomever will get him elected. Even if it’s the far-right. Sad, really, but nothing new for career politicians like Rudy.
I happy to see the Christian left — if that’s the proper term — starting to flex their considerable muscles and get more vocal. I too am sick at how the right has not only taken over the religious world, but corrupted it as well with some truly un-Christian attitudes. That being said, I often wonder if anyone in the red states is listening? I know a lot of moderate Christians in my mostly red state of Missouri, but most of them have this attitude about voting for anyone who isn’t a Bible-thumping Republican. Even when they don’t necessarily agree with the candidates’ interpretation of Scripture, they still vote for Republican. It’s almost scary how the religious right has, for lack of a better term, brainwashed the faithful into thinking they are the modern day prophets; and only they can righteously interpret the Bible. If nothing else, having another voice out there benefits us all.
