You know, I get that Israel needs to retaliate against those who attacked them and abducted their citizens. I could debate whether or not their choice of violent retaliation was their best first option, but that’s neither here nor there. What I wonder is why they would choose targets that are sure to be occupied by civilians. Like the airport, for example. Why wouldn’t they do their best to choose military targets that would reduce the possibility of civilian deaths? What point do they think they are making? Given the much ballyhooed Israeli intelligence service, are we saying they can’t come up with more valid choices?
You know, I’m no great fan of illegal immigration, but it’s not something that keeps me up at night. I don’t know, maybe it should. Regardless, the Republican dislike for anyone who doesn’t share their pastey white skin is sometimes astonishing to me.
OK, I’ll admit: I watch Desperate Housewives. I make no apologies for it. When it first aired in 2004, the show was interesting and a lot of fun to watch; especially with the Mary Alice mystery. As the plot demanded, that mystery needed to be tied up by season end. Fine, but unfortunately, the writers and producers completely failed to write anything remotely interesting this season. The were some good points: the Gabby/Carlos attempt to adopt; the enmity between Bree and her son. In fact, I thought Marcia Cross and Shawn Pyfrom gave exceptional performances this season and were deserving of Emmy nominations. This article sums up a lot of what I feel about the show. For me, it’s just a stopping point before Grey’s Anatomy. Maybe season three will be better.
