Uhm, excuse me, is there was no link betweenSaddam Hussein and al Qaeda, then why exactly did we invade? According to our illustrious leader there was a link and that above all was a major reason for the invasion. So, once again, the president is called out for his lies. Of course, it means nothing. I don’t think most Americans give a shit.
Being an election with a Republican incumbent, I knew it would be long before negative ads started airing across the state. Talent started it first with an ad that stated Claire McCaskill said Howard Dean was her hero, did not support the gay marriage amendment, support stem cell research (meaning she kills babies), supported the "death" tax, etc. You know, the usual GOP bullshit. Well, now McCaskill has her own video out refuting those allegations and takes, I think, a veer to the right. In the video she states she supports the death penalty and "traditional" marriage, and reiterates her support of stem cell research. Personally, I think the stem cell research issue is a loser for Republicans. Far too many Americans, and Missourians, support the use of stem cell research. As to the other issues, well I’m not surprised a former prosecuting attorney supports the death penalty and I doubt seriouslyanyone in Missouri could get elected on the national level without supporting it. As to the "traditional" marriage remark, I’m a little sad McCaskill even spoke about it. It wasn’t necessary. Now, she kind of road the middle ground here. She said she supports "traditional" marriage, but she didn’t say she also support a ban on gay marriage. It’s semantics, but it keeps McCaskill from being held accountable later on. Still, I know McCaskill is a progressive politician. I just wish she would play that up rather than sink to playing the conservative card. Even in Missouri, I don’t think it’s necessary.
