I guess I shouldn’t be, but this letter written last month by a soldier in Iraq has quite a bit of humor to it; biting humor, but funny still.  Of course, there are still the sad moments, angry moments, frustrated moments, but often it has a very wry sense of humor.  Here’s my favorite from the letter:

Biggest Outrage — Practically anything said by talking heads on TV about the war in Iraq, not that I get to watch much TV. Their thoughts are consistently both grossly simplistic and politically slanted. Biggest Offender: Bill O’Reilly.

You gotta love that!  Of all the talking heads this young man could pick, from either side of the political spectrum, he picks our man O’Reilly.  Hilarious.  Everyone should read this letter.  It’s probably the most honest depiction of Iraq yet.
