I am no fan of capital punishment.  In the grand scheme of fighting and deterring crime it does very little; however, I really can’t bring myself to feel anything for one of the world’s great tyrants, Saddam Hussein, being sentenced to hang by the very people he terorized.  Killing others for their crimes rarely brings closure to those affected by that crimen no matter how much they may wish it did; but for the people of Iraq I think making this piece of shit pay for what the unspeakable acts of violence he perpetrated against them will help.  Granted, some will see this as an American kangaroo court, especially the Sunnis, but in the long run having this man gone from the face of the planet will be for the better.  If there’s one bad thing about this it’s the timing.  You can bet Republicans are going to use this a rallying cry for their Iraq folly.
