…save the world
If you don’t know who Peter David is you’re probably not a fan of Star Trek or comic books. David is a prolific science fiction author best know for writing some really great Star Trek original fiction; movie adaptations such as Batman Forever and Spider-man; not to mention a whole slew of comic books (Justice League, Spider-Man, and Wolverine to name a few). David’s website is a personal space where to author talks of his current writings, TV shows he likes, and occasionally his political views. In a recent posting he makes a pitch for impeaching the president. I’m not a fan of the impeachment idea, and I certainly don’t think Democrats should waste valuable time engaging in it out of some sort of revenge for the asinine way in which President Clinton was treated by Republicans. At the end of the posting David makes a remark that I find hilarious because it shows how well a network has been able to make a TV show about an unlikely group of heroes such a part of our pop culture almost over night:
To paraphrase "Heroes"–"Impeach the President; Save the World."
I just find that too funny.
