Wal-Mart: Energy Efficient?

There must be a cold front moving through Hell because I’m about to agree with a Wal-Mart sales tactic.  The country’s largest retailer has decided to embrace compact fluorescent light bulbs and is actively pushing its customers to make the switch to the more expensive, but also energy efficient, bulbs.

As the article points out, compact fluorescent bulbs save money, use less electricity, emit less greenhouses gases, and last longer than incandescent bulbs.  Granted, they are also more expensive, but considering they will last longer the upfront cost is lessened by the overall savings.  I slowly made the switch to compact fluorescent bulbs a year ago and I’ve never regretted it.  Quite frankly, I didn’t really think they gave off a “harsher” light.  I certainly don’t notice anything now.
