Well, I certainly can’t fault Democrats for their first piece of legislation: a package a rules meant to stengthen ethics.  Among other things, it bans gifts from lobbyists and travel on corporate jets.  Washington graft was a big turn-off to voters this past election, so I think this was a good palce to start for Dems.  I have to say I’m a little surprised it passed with only one nay vote, but then I think everyone can agree things were out of control these past few years.
