I didn’t think it was possible, but Ann Coulter may have sunk to an all new low. In a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference she said, “I was going to comment on John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you say the word faggot.”  And to top it all off, candidate Mitt Romney said it was important to hear from “moderates” like Coulter! I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again, if groups like the Log Cabin Republicans do not see how venomous the Republican party is towards them they are fools. Simply put, they are fools. Even more shameful is that not one person in this group booed this evil woman — not one! Do Republicans really think they can win elections being like this? Granted, this will certainly play to a extremely Conservative, religious element in the party who find remarks like this correct and humorous, but will it play to the masses? I certainly hope not.
John Edwards is trying to raise $100,000 in “Coulter Cash.” Give a little if you can.
As if we don’t have enough trouble dealing with the FCC’s attempt to monitor every dirty word and nipple the flashes across out TV screens, now they want the power regulate the amount of violence on television. Now, let me just say that I really see no problem with banishing violent programs like 24, Prison Break, or even the minimally violent Heroes to the 10:00 pm hour (which is 9:00 pm my time, but the FCC does take into account time zones — idiots!). I think that’s a small price to pay. Granted, the FOX network does not air programming in the 10:00 pm hour, so I’m not sure how this will play out, but I think keeping programs that are adult in nature out of the time periods children may be watching is not a bad thing. However, once that happens I think the FCC needs to but the hell out. Of course, it doesn’t stop there, does it? You’d think Republicans of all people would want less regulation, but since they are dependent upon the far right in their party they feel the need to intrude into our homes and decide for us which programs we are allowed to watch and what content those programs are allowed to show. Enough, already; butt out!
