He’s Right

Senator Obama, that is.  If you’re running for president you should have a better grasp of facts than Senator John McCain seems to have.  And contrary to what Seantor McCain’s camp is saying, it’s not nitpicking to point that out.

Screwed Over Again

In order to cut back on the cost of gas to run buses, one school rural Minnesota has chosen to start f 4-day school week.  This may help the school save money on high-priced gasoline, but it’s the parents — many of them low income families — who will suffer.  Why?  Well, what will they do with all these kids who aren’t in school?  It will mean hiring babysitters, or paying for daycare, or trying to adjust work schedules to accommodate kids out of school.  However you slice this “cost-saving” measure, it screws over those who can’t afford it.

What!

You know, modern Conservatism has become a joke.  What kind of intellectual movement would allow itself to include idiots like Michelle Malkin.  This fool raised a ruckus because the innocuous Rachel Ray was shown in an online ad wearing a scarf that Malkin says “has come to symbolize murderous Palestinian jihad.” What a load of shit.  And while this may upset some, all those people who complained to Dunkin’ Donuts are just as foolish and idiotic as Malkin.  Even more shameful in Dunkin’ Donuts for backing down to Malkin’s insidious form of racism.  I would have ignored this idiot and all her fellow idiots.  Dunkin’s Donuts is a major corporation and they had nothing to from this fool and her foolish readers.

Mars!

As an avid science fiction fan these images of Mars are simply … well … other-worldly.  Just the idea that we’re seeing images from another planet, up close an personal, is just unreal.  I can wait to see what happens next.

By the way, if you’re looking for some excellent scienc fiction, emphasis on the science, dealing with the colonization of the red planet you have to read Kim Stanley Robinson’s fantastic Mars trilogy

No Sympathy Here

I’m sorry, but I can’t bring myself to have much sympathy for Hillary Clinton at this moment.  Senator Clinton put herself in the position of having to defend what has to be one of the most stupid political mistakes in recent history.  As I said before, she should know better.

Eyes on the Prize

Hillary Clinton’s supporters are really starting to piss me off.  They are actually threatening to put McCain in office if they don’t get their way.  Their way being Hillary as VP.  I’m sorry but that’s just fuckign stupid.  Are they really going to doom this country to what would effectively be a third Bush term?  Talk about sour grapes.  Talk about pathetic.

This Can’t Be Good for John McCain

If former Reagan aides and supporters see the late president in Barak Obama this cannot bode well for McCain’s ability to attract independents.

Why Say It?

Let me start off by admitting I don’t think Hillary Clinton was saying she thought someone might try to assassinate Barak Obama when she invoked the name of Robert Kennedy.  All of the candidates are at risk for something like that.  However, what in hell possessed her to say something like this?  She’s a pro and should know how this would be taken by the press.  She should know better.  That being said, I think she’s fair game.  If she can attack Obama for his “bitter” remarks, she should get the same treatment for her Kennedy remark.  What comes around, goes around.

Whatever!

So, Fox News is saying it’s OK for them to be a bunch of right wing fanatics, but MSNBC is not allowed to be left-leaning?  This so-called “news” channel better hope a Democrat gets elected in November or they face ever greater irrelevance.

Can’t Take the Heat

We all know the bubble heads at Fox are a bunch of thin-skinned wusses, but this takes the cake.
