Senator John McCain’s response to the recent Supreme Court ruling is an example of what wrong with Republicans these days.  In their minds it’s fine to cherry pick the constitution, to designate people as “enemy combatants” and throw out the constitution.  This idea that we can’t be a free country and abide by the laws that have made us a beacon of freedom for 200 hundred is simply a load of crap.  Yeah, I know we’ve done things like this before, but we’ve also repudiated those incidents and admitted they were wrong.  Does anyone today believe interring Japanese Americans during World War II was the right thing to do? Sure, some will say that, but you know what they’re usually right-wing Conservatives.  I guess Senator McCain has become one of those — or he always was and we’re just seeing his true color now.
