I guess it shouldn’t be shocking that reports are saying Senator John McCain is considering Senator Joe Lieberman (Turncoat D-CT) as his running mate. Those two are so in love with each other it’s sickening to watch them together, and Lieberman gave up any pretense of being a Democrat when he chose the other party over his own.  However, would Turcoat Joe be the best choice?  First, I really can’t see Republicans being happy with that choice; Lieberman may be Conservative on a lot of issues, but prior to September 11, 2001, he was a reliable, if contrary, member of the Democratic Party.  Second, this would only galvanize Democrats against Senator McCain considering their dislike for Joe Lieberman.  Third, I don’t think it would go down so well with the mamby-pamby independents either, since they tend to dislike the war in Iraq and don’t want to see us go to war in Iran. I’m sure this will, in the end, turn out to be whole lot of hot air, but part of me wishes he would choose Lieberman just to watch it blow up in his face.
