Joe Biden at the Convention

I have to say, I’m liking Joe Biden.  He gave a great speech that explicitly lays out why Americans should not vote for John McCain.  Now we just have to wait and see if Americans are listening.  Here’s my favorite part:

Let me make this pledge to you right here and now. For every American who is trying to do the right thing, for all those people in government who are honoring their pledge to uphold the law and respect our Constitution, no longer will the eight most dreaded words in the English language be: “The vice president’s office is on the phone.”

Well, That’s Just Terrible

It seems that the choice of Senator Joe Biden as Barak Obama’s running mate is causing the McCain campaign a little worry.  That’s just makes me so…happy.  I know very little about this man from Delaware, but what I’ve read recently seems to paint a picture of Joe Biden being a tough-as-nails senator who can take on not only McCain but anyone he chooses as a running mate.  In my mind, that makes him a great choice to be VP.  It makes me wish Senator McCain would pick Mitt Romney as his running mate.  I think Joe Biden could eat him alive.

Bill at the Convention

Maybe I’m being too hard on Bill Clinton, because apparently he’s giving one hell of a speech in support of Senator Obama.  My problem is, all the unnecessarily terrible and wrong things he and his wife said about Senator Obama aren’t going away.  One great speech may not be able to fix that.  It would also be nice, and a show of that unity he keeps talking about, if he showed up tomorrow night to hear the candidate he now speaks so fondly of accept his party’s nomination.

Hillary at the Convention

I am happy to admit that I did not watch Hillary Clinton last night.  Had absolutely no interest in hearing what she had to say.  I head enough what she had to say during the primary, during which she may have done irreparable damage to the party and our candidate.  You can view her speech here.  It was good and I think she did what she came to do (or was asked to do). Unfortunately for both Senator Clinton and us all, her husband has decided to flip the bird to his party’s nominee by not even showing up for Senator Obama’s acceptance speech tomorrow.  Once again, it comes down to pettiness and immaturity with the Clintons.  The day this man is no longer a power in the party can’t come soon enough for me.
