Fixing the Mess

Whoever wins the election in November he or she has an unenviable job ahead of them.  With the still unpopular war in Iraq, the low opinion of the world, and an economy that is less than spectacular the next president has a mess to fix.  Unfortunately, unless the next president goes into office with a solid majority in at least one house of Congress it’s going to be next to impossible to accomplish anything simply because our elected leaders are more interested in putting petty politics ahead of the country’s needs.  Moreover, I don’t think this is fixable in just one term.  To truly have any effect, the next president will need both terms.  Don’t envy that person at all.

Who Says The Economy is Bad?

Well, I guess if you’re Exxon Mobil the economy is wonderful!  A company only Ebenezer Scrooge could love.  Maybe the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present an Future need to visit the CEO of Exxon Mobil.  There is something wrong with gas prices in this country when a company like this can make a net income, not gross income but net income, of more than $10 billion when the great majority of people are struggling to keep up with rising prices at the pumps.
