Enough Already

Yes, Senator McCain, we know you were a POW and we all honor your sacrifice and courage in the face of that horrible experience.  However, being a POW is not, and should not, be the answer to every question you don’t like.

Unsurprising News

So, after the candidates’ little chit-chat with Pastor Rick “Purpose Driven” Warren preliminary opinion shows Senator McCain came out ahead.  This is not shocking news.  Hardcore Conservative Christians are going to vote for McCain; there’s just no way around that fact.  While Evangelicals aren’t quite the cohesive group they once were — at least not among the Evangelicals I know and go to church with — it has long been my opinion Obama has to win this election without relying on this group in any way; and I think it can be done.  The greater part of the citizenry doesn’t think abortion and gays are the greatest threat to our country since the birth of Osama bin Laden.  That being said, I like that Obama is able to phrase his opinion like the person of faith he is.  Unlike so many politicians I believe Obama when he talks about his faith. I believe than he has strong Christian values (which is open to interpretation).

Am I Agreeing with a Hilton?

There he goes again.  John McCain is once again talking down to the American people.  He wants us to believe that he used images of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears in a campaign ad to inject humor into the campaign.  What a load of BS.  That ad was designed to paint Senator Obama as a rich, pampered elitist and a pathetic attention-seeker.  It’ rather sad when it’s one of those pampered, rich elitists is making more sense than the McCain campaign.

Petulant, Anyone?

Talk about whiny!

Flip-Flop Express

Adoption by same-sex couples is one of those hot button topics that’s almost as important as abortion to Conservative right-wingers.  Well, Senator John McCain needs to make up his mind before those right-wingers start to see through his facade.  First, the Senator flat out says he opposes gay adoption.  Of course, this starts the usual talking heads buzzing about this, that, and the other.  Now, he says that adoption by same-sex couples is OK if nothing else can be arranged.  Nice flip-flop.

Step Up

A military group is setting up a town hall meeting and hopes to have both presidential candidates appear before 6,000 people with ties to the military.  So far, only John McCain has agreed to be involved while Senator Obama is saying he has a scheduling conflict.  This is not a good decision.  While I can admit the military is far more Republican than Democrat (wrongly so in my opinion) that doesn’t mean Senator Obama can’t grab military vores, and this is the kind of event he should be attending.  Not attending will only make him look weak and Obama cannot afford to look weak.  This is the perfect event to prove he can be Commaner-in-Chief.

John McCain, Anti-War?

So I sitting to have a late dinner and tune in to Wheel of Fortune, but what do I find instead, a political ad by and for John McCain in which he basically tried to get us believing he’s anti-war.  Sorry, Senator McCain, considering your recent comments and your actions over the last four years I just don’t buy into that.  Furthermore, it just makes you seem pathetic and desperate for voters.

This Can’t Be Good for John McCain

If former Reagan aides and supporters see the late president in Barak Obama this cannot bode well for McCain’s ability to attract independents.

Here We Go Again

Maybe, likeBarak Obama, I too hate American, but I sincerly hope that American (and that means you, too, Republicans) aren’t stupid enough to buy into bullshit like this.  Sadly, since I know far too many people who gave President Bush a second term because they thought he would keep us safe I don’t know if that’s true or not.  How pathetic for McCain.  The so-called straight talker is no different than any other wingnut.

Hey, Clinton Supporters!

Tell your candidate that she should be attacking John McCain, not supporting him in some pathetic attempt to one-up Barak Obama.  Barak Obama is not the enemy, hell John McCain is not the enemy, but he is the real opponent.  This is why I’m having so much trouble supporting Clinton’s effort to become the nominee of the Democrat Party.

Barak Obama made the point of saying that people are bitter about job losses, the economy, the home mortgage crisits, etc.  Of course, like a good right winger John McCain starts waving a flag and talking about how great this country is; and he’s right, America is a great country but that doesn’t mean we don’t have real problems in need of fixing and sure as hell doesn’t mean Americans aren’t unhappy, or “bitter” as Barak Obama said.  Not wanting to be left out of the spotlight, Hillary Clinton jumps on the bandwagon and attacks Barak Obama, as well.  Basically parroting the same thing John McCain said.  Senator Clinton should know better.  If she wanted to disagree with Barak Obama, fine, but she could have done it in such a way as to point out the failures of the Bush Administration and the man who would like nothing better than to continue that failure, John McCain.

Fortunately, Barak Obama doesn’t take these attacks lying down.  His rebuttal of both John McCain and Hillary Clinton is informed and well put.  Here’s a major difference between Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton:  his attack in John McCain is far stronger than his rebuttal of Hillary Clinton.  It’s fine to disagree with your primary opponent, but save your attacks for the opposing party.
